    An update: http://www.highcharts.com/plugin-registry/single/35/contour is compatible with Highcharts releases now

    @Kumaresan Muthaliar Can you provide a JSFiddle? I haven't used categories so that could very well be broken.

    Paulo Costa made a plugin that implements 3D surface charts, if you look at the 3rd example on this list: http://www.highcharts.com/plugin-registry/single/35/contour -- with different data it can produce very impressive results! See this demo I made to show the capability: http://jsfiddle.net/L5y8yrvr/9/

    But it doesn't work with official Highcharts releases yet and there are some bugs. I think the dev team should consider integrating Paulo's work into the main repo. This is an impressive, some would say essential, option to have in a graphing package.
