the gradients still do not provide the look our clients are looking for. real '3d' charts- bar, pie, etc are critical

Funny thing is, once I added these, the product managers were content, and even at an executive level everyone here seems to be over the desire for 3D charts (especially for pie charts)... thus, I'll be reallocating my vote :D

Any chance we can encourage dev of 3d exploding pie charts. Clients are quite hankering for that.

Great look but a little bug in Firefox if we choose spline instead of column ...
In the legend, the marker look gradient, but not the spline ... and in the graphics gradient is applied in all the line. It could be better if only markers (Dot) have his effects.

in IE7, looks greats. Only markers are gradients and spline still have the same color.

Yes, please add at least basic 3D support. Even something like this would be enough for start {'3d': {enabled: true, depth: 20}} for bar and pie.

I need to implement 3D highcharts and 3D highstockcharts as soon as possible.
So please help me to implement it.this feature would really be great!!!!

3D should not be important... but it IS! I need 3D turned on for certain audiences, and 2D for others. The latter being those that actually care about getting an accurate assessment at a glance, the former being those looking for eye candy. :)

That said - more chart types (spider/radar [including stacked and area-percent modes] and bullet for example) would seem like a more important first phase, with optional 3D on the applicable chart types down the road somewhere.

My company asked me to do a presentation of some new and fansy charts and I chose Highcharts. They liked them a lot, but they require an digrama with specific information should be in the 3D diagram. They are ready to buy licenses, but if the product covers all a requirement. I think it is better for Highcharts to support such a plugin for those who want to use 3D charts.

I think this would be a good idea to implement, doesnt mean people need to use it, but if there was an option to simply switch a chart to 3d it would be very useful.

One of the best things highcharts has going for it is that it displays clean, easy to read graphics. Please don't get sucked into the 3-D nonsense that some companies go with - the reason I use you is that you seem to understand how to communicate through charts.

Don't release it. Guys, please look at Fusion charts. Do you want to say that it looks with 3D much better then HightChart? I don't think so. 3D charts it is ugly. Guys, you want to use the feature from past. Please look at Google. They even don't use gradient. Their sites are very simple and useful. It seems you look in wrong way. 3D charts outdated.

it really depends on your use case but when you code something for sale/upper management this is the way to go. if you design charts for the it crowd, just use 2d charts right?

It's a bad idea to show any type of graph / pies / charts in 3D. I know, I know, sales department wants it, but it's really useless for actual users.

We're thinking of licensing highcharts in our new project, but 3D is sort of a knockout criterium for our sales management... Please implement this on a short notice!
@Torstein: Your gradient posting is really helpful. maybe with some customizable shadow we can also enhance the flat look of the current highcharts.
But for sales, nothing beats 3D.... And that also goes for the sales of Highcharts licenses I suppose! :-)
