Threshold option for colors
Threshold option to set apply different colors , ideally to show negative values or values below target.

good point, plot bands are not enought, sometimes i really need to change line color to make threshold over data clearly visible

I would extend this idea using two recent conversations from the forums. The example in the OP is really good and I agree (+1). For the extension, please let me know if this should be a different idea:
1) For Bar/Column Charts, make this a reference bar that can be specified for each category or data point: http://jsfiddle.net/gemahon/PQE8S/2/ (the "Goal" series) (http://highslide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11483&p=51708&hilit=threshold#p51708)

+1 here, I have a need for this in a bar chart. Configurable colors for above and below a defined threshold (or plotLine?).

+1 from me for this feature too. It is only missing what i should really need, then should Highcharts be perfect. ;)
