Thank you for the update.
I have done some further testing with the current version and there is no major issues to adding the technical indicators; maybe adding plot of volume or MACD may cause some problems with layouting.
My tests with intraday charts have shown one problem and looking at the video and I am not sure that it is solved and so I repeat it here:
Typically exchanges are opened from 9:00 to 17:30 (or less) the rest of the time trading is not possible and there are no historical data. Similarly there are no data on weekend or some some timescale as 1 or 5mn interval, there may not be points for a given time. it would be very nice not to use any x-space if there is no data; data series can be provided if neededCheers
Looking forward to the final release -
The stock charts are not ready for public testing yet. There are still major features missing, and great flaws in existing features. Estimated final release date is two or three months from now.
@Philippe:
- Intraday data will be supported. Points don't have to be evenly time spaced, as the video demo shows.
- The Navigator feature replaces the master-detail chart shown in the current Highcharts demo.
- Dynamic updates are supported
- Technical indicators are not planned for version 1, except event markers/annotations related to specific points on the graph or x axis. Most indicators can be added as specific series based on your own data analysis. -

can't u have a beta released soon so we can test it out too .. or some Gen 1 release which we can readily deploy ? the other features can keep coming in. SO far it looks very good for deploying also

Hi,
What I have seen so far looks very promising!
Is the package already available for testing? or commercially available?
Or when will it be available? any date?
Can it be used with 5 min or tick by tick data? (taking into account that tick by tick may not be evenly time spaced?)
Can the chart be combined with the master-detail chart? and/or dynamic update?
Do you plan to add technical indicators? if not could we add them ourselves?
Sorry to pester you with all the questions; we are looking for a charting lib and a license is cheaper than in house devel.
http://tickerplot.com offers some nice features (not mature yet)
Cheers

@Benjamin:
Adding basic shapes to a chart by your end users would require that you have some kind of backend to store the shapes - whithout it it wouldn't be of much use. This falls outside Highcharts' scope as a client side charting library. But what we could do is to create a simple module for drawing, based on user mouse/touch interaction and the current drawing API. Then callbacks would allow you to hook it up to your own backend.@Tony Xiao:
Toggling zoom/pan with a control key is a great idea. We'll explore this further.@Vowani:
All basic chart types as well as multiple series will be supported. We understand that "Stock charts" are a bit too narrow for the name. Actually, "Finance charts" is also too narrow, as these charts will be good at displaying all time based data, for example weather trends over a decade. Or even non-time based data with a long x axis. -

For further inspiration, Morningstar has done quite nice charts. Here's an example:

Tip: you should perhaps call it "finance charts" instead of "stock charts", since it will be used not only to chart stocks, but also indices, funds, etf's, commodities, etc.

Will it also be possible to specify "line/area/candle" chart types for the stock charts?
Will it be possible to easily add multiple data series to this master/detail stock chart (e.g. to compare charts of different stocks)? In that case, it would be nice to be able to quickly turn on/off the display of each of the series in the chart, by clicking on its series name in a legend.

Just another suggestion after looking at the video. It is awesome to be able to pan on the chart, but I think the ability to zoom directly on the chart (instead of going to the master axis below) is also very important for analysis using the chart. Therefore I would suggest using modifier key to control whether to zoom or pan. Say when control key is pressed, allow user to zoom instead of pan would be great!

Hi, thanks for providing this wonderful new service.
It would be great to be able to draw simple objects on the stock chart, giving date/time and y values. Then the objects would move with the data when the chart is zoomed / scrolled.
You can start with very simple shapes like circles, rectangles, horizontal lines, vertical lines and trend lines.
Do you think you will be able to do this for us? -
See http://highcharts.com/component/content/article/2-news/25-highcharts-stock-development-started for a demonstration of the development so far.

@Shamasis Bhattacharya Why do you need to spam this forum with flash plugins? clearly us showing interest in highcharts is to avoid flash and the likes, please go away, you are advertising a product in the very wrong place.

They will most likely be ready in some months, but the Stock charts will come with a separate license from the basic package.

I noticed the OHLC GitHub update and downloaded it, but the OHLC demo does not display anything. Am I missing some setup details to try this out?
Thanks!

Candlesticks are in progress. See http://www.highcharts.com/studies/ohlc.htm. The only vital feature missing is different colors for up and down.
