is there any way to scroll the graph using touch gestures - in case I don't want to use scroll bar.

    Help appreciated !

Fair enough that this is tough for stock, since that generally attempts to cover millions of data points. But this should be easier for all the other ("simple") graphs.

@CallMeLaNN: We are working on a demo for this common situation: http://www.highcharts.com/stock/demo/lazy-loading. As you can see it still has some quirks. The greatest is actually to retrieve the data fast enough from the database - it as 1.7 million points and SQL doesn't have an equivalent for open/first and close/last within groups.

Great you have implemented this. What I can see the Highstock load all the data but how about the dynamically load data if I got a lot more data? E.g x-axis is from 0 to 10 and the data is only contain 0 to 10. Scrollbar enabled. When user start scrolling to the left, it will show loading animation in the area 10 and above and trigger JS event, I use the event to AJAX load 10 to 20 data from server and add it into the array and automatically show to user. Useful if too many data range and series need to show to end user.

Yes, but for now it is tied up to the stock charts x axis

Hey this is a really nice product. I was just wondering if you will be planning on implementing y axis scrolling into the highcharts or highstocks product.

I'm sorry, scrolling for the Y axis isn't implemented.

I've seen the horizontal scroll in Highstock but will it also be possible to scroll the y-axis? For example, if you have a dataset with very different data (e.g. 1000, 983, 23,18) then it would be great if you could "zoom" to the lower values. A clipping symbol would then be attached automatically to the end of the bars with the high values.

Looking at the demos of Highstock, it appears the scrolling functionality is limited to a Date/Time axis. Is there a way to set our own units there?

Yes, this will be out with the Highstock product. All features of Highcharts are also implemented in Highstock, so you can upgrade to Highstock to get access to the scrolling charts feature.

Any status on this, Torstein? I see that Highstock is out, and the implementation is golden -- exactly what we need to finish out our project.

Yes, I'd think so. Our goal is to have the beta ready by the end of June and the final release out by the end of July.

Thx Tornstein, my team will start working on the chart module of the application by the middle of July, can I assume Highcharts is the way to go then? :)

    Cheers

    Hi Nuno,

The scrolling x axis will be part of the Stock chart product, that is expected to be released in the summer.
