HighStock Navigator as a standalone component.
Please make HighStock navigator a standalone component.
It could have several usages besides driving the HighStock time:
- immediate time selection/change for any web application - much more intuitive than just a Date + Time picker. Right now there's nothing similar: you have it, it's user friendly, but it' just not standalone.
- use to zoom in and out several HighCharts (not HighStock) in the same page. Right now there's only a mouse based zoom (with and selection), but that's not very efficient when using more than one chart in the same page. Syncing those charts is still not user friendly compared to the Navigator (from HighStock).
Right now being just part of HighStock is just too big and heavyweight.
I can't wait for having such a navigator. Also, I would like it if we can define the minimal area of the zoom area of the navigator so it isn't linked to the data of the chart(s) it is linked to.
I made this code which synces multiple graphs together: https://github.com/wlanslovenija/django-datastream/blob/master/django_datastream/static/datastream/js/datastream.js
That would make a HUGE difference in my project. I have a chart that has 9 y-Axis sharing the same x coordinate. My xAxis can be both linear or datetime.
The navigator would be GREAT

I would be interested in this as well — my use case is to permit "handles" for selecting an x-axis region, similar to what is done here: http://square.github.io/crossfilter/
click and drag on a chart to get a selection region that is draggable.
Currently it isn't a standalone component, and it won't be in the foreseeable future.
curious to know if this is now a standalone component , or perhaps will soon be ?
Definitely!! It would be a major enhancement for me as well.
I really need it too :) Good suggestion.
Very interesting thought. Thanks!
