I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. add events to axis labels

there should be standard events like mouseOut, mouseOver, click , etc. available for axis labels. currently it is possible to do it through custom events plugin, but it is not compatible with latest highcharts

  2. highchart - chart should be overflow = auto

Can we have any highchart functionality/feature that dashboard can automatically adjust width(HScroll bar) & height(VScroll bar) ?

Like chart should be overflow = auto (as per data)

  3. Error bar tooltips

I would like the option to show a the numbers for a single data point and its associated margin of error (M.o.E.) bar in a single unified tooltip, as in:

    [ Apples: 67.5 (M.o.E.: 63.4 - 71.6) ]

I would like this rather than having the data points and margins of error on separate tooltips or having data for all series on the same shared tooltip.

  4. add a `dashStyle` that can show the direction the line is going

When showing a line on scatter chart it can be hard to tell where the line started and where it ended.

Having a dashStyle option that was similar to plotOptions.scatter.dashStyle = 'dot' except that instead of a dot it was a rotated triangle that pointed in the direction the line was going would be awesome.

I saw some hacks for turning the entire line into one long arrow but that isn't what I was looking for.

  5. Add top border to PlotBand

When plotting a plodBand it doesn't plot the top border, if it's required to not plot the top border for some use cases, there should be an option to plot or not the top border.

  6. Boost Module for Sankey Chart

The boost module would be beneficial for large dataset when using the sankey chart. We are experiencing a severe degradation in performance with large datasets on this chart type

  7. Hit-test point in map

For Highmaps, we should have a method to find which map area a point lays within. Useful for building heatmaps.

  8. Provide the option to let piecharts show the larger segments on top

Reading a pie chart is like reading a clock. It's most effective to place the largest segment at 12 o'clock (as it does now). The best way to order the rest of the segments is to place the second biggest slice at 12 o'clock on the left; the rest would follow counterclockwise.

  9. Show value on top of plotline or allow multiple labels on a plotline

Plotlines are excellent to point out interesting Things in the chart. With large datasets it can be a good thing to be able to have an additional label for the exact value of that plotline

  10. Draw border for bar so that it doesn't increase width of bar

When a border is added to bar/column charts, the border goes X pixels around the bar. This causes the bar to overlap over the axis lines and possibly other bars. See this JSFiddle example:
    http://jsfiddle.net/aaewong/6kmu11md/5/

It would be nice if it could look more like this instead:
    http://jsfiddle.net/izothep/0ubmw73z/7/

  11. Add support for relative (lowercase) SVG operators in path

This would allow SVG paths to be shorter in many cases, which would reduce data size, and make the page load faster.

For example, SVG path for a rectangle could be
    "M400 400h32v28h-32Z"
    instead of
    "M400 400L432 400 432 428 400 428Z"
    See http://forum.highcharts.com/highmaps-usage-f14/use-of-relative-commands-in-svg-paths-for-map-t31720/

  12. Make plotLines work without explicit width or color

Most things in HighCharts have smart defaults, so unset options will do something reasonable. But plotLines is not this way: if the user does not explicitly specify a width and color, no line will be drawn (and sometimes a JS error will happen).

Example which works but includes comments on how to easily break it: http://jsfiddle.net/LKayp/

I think plotLines (and addPlotLines) should default to a reasonable width and color, just as regular series lines do.

  14. navigator axis position in xAxis array should always be at the end position or removed

Currently the navigator is positioned at number 2 point in the axis array if new axis are dynamically added otherwise it is the last element. This makes indexing int the axis array unnecessarily complicated and confusing. I want that the navigator array either be taken out of the xAxis array and have its own array or at least have a consistent position

  15. More formats supported by Highmaps or simple converter/plugins.

Be able to easily get data from PostGIS, import a KML, or a simple MultiLineString.

  16. api hook for missing data

An option for what to display in place of missing data. Currently, you can override the formatter for data labels, a simple '==null' test would work. The issue is that the formatter and display for the label is skipped on null elements in series. Could there be a second option, an incase-of-null display hook?

  17. support more or custom spline fit algorithms

As mention in the comments for "Fix spline plots" (http://highcharts.uservoice.com/forums/55896-general/suggestions/871839-fix-spline-plots-to-draw-a-better-generalized-line), sometimes the built in spline fit method is not acceptable. It would be great if there were other fit options built in (like D3: https://github.com/mbostock/d3/wiki/SVG-Shapes#path-data-generators) or allow custom algorithm to be plugged in.

  19. Allow users to hit Enter to change date/time range

Currently in Highstock, if you're editing the date/time range by using the text fields, you can't hit Enter to make your changes, which is odd. Instead, you have to click the page outside of the text field. Support for hitting Enter should be added.
