Simple breaks may be quite confusing now because the reader of the chart has no indications of the occurrence of a break in the axis. It would be very nice to add to the simple break an axis cut by too slashes same way as shown on the Y axis of this sample : http://jsfiddle.net/gh/get/jquery/2/highcharts/highcharts/tree/master/samples/highcharts/axisbreak/break-visualized/
It would be very nice to have such feature configurable through highcharts editor
Yes I agree this should be the default visualization. We need an option to turn it on or off though, as it would probably become too obtrusive for stock chart x axes where there is a break every night. Also, the Y axis by default has no line width, so the break by default would be invisible.
Being able to configure not just the fill colour of the bars in a chart, but the outline colour as well.3 votes
If you have a chart such as the following: https://s3.postimg.org/juxazrv5f/Screen_Shot_2016_08_19_at_20_19_08.png
And you change that yaxis 0 value to non-zero, i.e. 10, then the following occurs: https://s3.postimg.org/jdop36c8z/Screen_Shot_2016_08_19_at_20_18_27.png
We urgently need a hack/workaround to once again display the rounded corners. We are using Torsteins rounded-corners plugin to achieve this.3 votes
Can you share some more information? In this example, it works okay: http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/6ee7wm2k/
Chart options strongly depend on chart type and other options. For example, ticks on x/y axis. Depending on what type was chosen (linear, logarithmic, datetime or category), ticks are configured differently.
And I really suffer when I read docs and don't clearly understand which properties work with others, and which are useless together.
I suggest you to update docs, or implement chart options validation, or even provide us some external service to check, if given options are valid. In ideal world, if options are not valid, it would say why and maybe suggest something.3 votes
Thanks for requesting! This kind of validation could be added to the debug module.
We do try to add information about conflicting options in the API docs however. Are there any specific cases that we failed to mention?
It would be great if the borders around the charts had similar controls to that of CSS where we could edit the border colors and thicknesses individually. My one example is that we need to have only the left border of a chart thick red while the rest of the borders are to remain thin and gray. Here is an example image: http://connect.urnerbarry.com/public/album_photo/1d/09/0914_e1ba.PNG?c=332c
I think it is a little bit too specific to add to the configuration API, but you can simple add this as a small plugin.
Pagination facility providing is most important for bar charts3 votes
We don’t have pagination currently, but you can add a scrollbar to the X axis: http://utils.highcharts.local/samples/#view/stock/yaxis/inverted-bar-scrollbar
This would allow retrieveal of max and min data for that series. On a multi-series graph the axis extremes are nice, but being able to grab the extemes of each series would allow for more flexabiilty in data display.3 votes
I set up a plugin that you can use: http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/acPw9/
It would be nice to have a default formatter for displaying numbers in scientific notation3 votes
Here’s an idea of how to add a format for scientific notation:
Alternatively, Number.toExponential can be used inside formatter functions.
Faded rectangle on candlestick chart which indicates minimum and maximum based on time t1- begin and t2-end of time window.
Idea is shown here: http://waszczyk.com/resources/rectandleDoNotDelete.PNG Top edge indicates a maximum from chart and bottom edge shows a minimum with respect to input- T1 and T2. The background color is faded and custimizable.3 votes
Could a polygon series work for you? http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/n43L0a2x/
In a chart with data plotted on and datetime x-axia i would like to position tick labels between ticks rather than on ticks. An when i zoom they still appear in the center to the right of it's tick.
for example i have a tick on August 1st and another on September 1st and my date formate is MMM. I would like to see 'Aug' centered between the August 1st tick and the September 1st tick3 votes
This would definately be a nice feature. I believe we would need two types of label placement on datetime axes. Interval labels would be placed between ticks. For example a month name. But if the interval spans two months, like August-September, the label would have to be placed on the 1st of August.
We have a requirement to color the bubble depends on the size. Basically, if the value is high, it will have a darker color and for a low value, a lighter color.3 votes
By borrowing some functionality from color axis, you can compute dynamic colors for the bubbles: http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/pa9byxym/
PhantomJS/HighCharts at the moment supports only chart by chart server side image generation by passing options of a chart.
It would be nice that when someone passes multiple options PhantomJS and HighCharts consider this as each option as a new chart and stack them together into one image.
Only solution at the moment is that we generate one by one chart and combine them seperetly which i think should be done already on PhantomJS/HighCharts.3 votes
Please add the feature of spacing between series3 votes
Can you elaborate on that? What kind of series? Where do you want the spacing? A sketch or screenshot would be helpful.
It would be great if there were a feature to add axis labels to the existing Sankey chart at each level. Something like this: https://i.stack.imgur.com/cYsNT.png
I notice that this has been previously mentioned in the Sankey Diagram thread (https://jsfiddle.net/7aa18mws/). However, in-built support for this on multiple levels would be great.2 votes
Thans for your suggestion! For the records, in the internal terminology this would be labels for the columns.
I want to do something after the tooltip shows.
And I found the "point hover" event
But when I use the "crosshair" option, it doesn't need to hover the points to trigger the tooltip, anywhere of the chart triggers the tooltip
So now I can only do something when user's mouse hovers the points
I want to do it when the tooltip shows,
So i think it's better to add a "after tooltip show" event in options.
You can use the internal chart.tooltipRefresh event: http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/Ym4UA/
It would be nice to have an option to export chart (as PDF) to datauri string instead of file.
This can be done now indirectly, by obtaining chart's underlying svg, calling svg2pdf and finally using jsPDF doc.output('datauristring')
[which returns the base64 dataUri] instead of downloading file.
Maybe as an option in 'exporting' object?
Or by exposing new method, i.e. Highcharts.exportToUri() ?
Or maybe there's some simpler way that I am not aware of?
Thank you.2 votes
Thank you for your request! By extension, this applies to PNG and JPEG exports in addition to PDF. You can override the Highcharts.downloadURL function to capture the dataURI. See http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/9my975x4/.
can you add new chart, like this:
We have pie charts and variable radius pie charts in Highcharts. What specifically are you looking for?
add the ability to insert a custom class to data points matching specific criteria. If range is 1-9, if range is 10-19, etc.
If a data point is between X and Y integer, give it "class='low-range'" if a data point is between A and B interger, give it "class='custom-class'", etc.1 vote
Here’s how you can do this currently with a little extension: http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/tc5b2vbr/
We have a requirement to generate Smith Charts. Can Highcharts support Smith Charts?1 vote
Currently Smith charts can’t be drawn with Highcharts out of the box.
I have data that is 10's of thousands of points per chart, so the named value pair form of the chart won't work. So I'd like to request a new feature. Where you let me use 1 or 2 indexes into the point data to define a series, but allow me to access all of the data from the tooltip. So for a line chart I would define the series by the array name, and 1 index and for a scatter chart I would define the series by the array name and 2 indices. But the this.point would refer to all the fields at that index. It seems that this would be logically equivalent to the name value pairs, except that the data expansion with all of the redundant strings wouldn't be there. It does represent some data expansion though so some hit for memory and performance would be there. But then the interactive options to the user would be far greater.

I’m not sure I get you, but perhaps you can solve your task by using parallel arrays? http://jsfiddle.net/highcharts/uBVzY/
